The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board since 2003. 

  

In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015. 
  

The role is based in Hasso Plattner Foundation's main office in Potsdam, Germany.

The Position 

we are seeking an Asset Manager to manage selected assets for our clients, overseeing financial management, reporting, compliance, and strategic planning related to all assigned assets. Collaborate closely with your lead to provide senior leadership with actionable items that enhance project efficiency and impact. 

 

Your responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement a concept for master data management for all assigned assets 

  • Develop a reporting framework and prepare timely performance reports, and presentations for senior management and relevant stakeholders 

  • Control income & expense schedules and ensure the corresponding cash planning 

  • Analyze and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with assigned assets 

  • Implement internal controls and processes to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting 

  • Collect and review asset documentation requests and ensure accurate recording in the document management system  

  • Support the charitable project and asset controlling team  

  • Manage ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed 

 

 

Your experience & qualifications 

  • Bachelor's and Master’s degree, with focus on Business Administration or Economics Finance, Accounting, or related field 

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in financial management, asset management or a related role 

  • Proficiency in financial modeling and software tools (e.g., Excel, financial management software) 

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and analysis 

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and overcome challenges effectively 

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
