The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to strengthen Europe's digital sovereignty through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board until 2024.
In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

The Role
Join us as Impact Manager (all genders) and help shape how the Foundation understands and drives its impact. In this role, you translate strategic ambitions into measurable outcomes and ensure that impact is systematically embedded across our programs and partnerships.
You will work closely with Program Managers, project partners, and the Foundation’s leadership to define impact goals, build robust measurement frameworks, and integrate data into decision-making. Beyond frameworks, you will enable practical implementation on the ground and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement across the Foundation’s ecosystem.
Your Responsibilities
Shape and align impact goals
- Ensure impact alignment between Foundation-level goals, focus areas, and individual projects
- Translate strategic priorities into measurable targets and coherent KPIs
Drive project-level implementation
- Develop and refine logic models together with Program Managers and project partners
- Define meaningful and feasible indicators and targets at project level
- Ensure alignment between strategic goals and operational realities
Establish data collection, analysis & reporting
- Support the rollout of systems such as DIMS (Donation and Impact Monitoring System)
- Enable partners to implement monitoring tools and collect relevant data
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess outcomes
- Recommend and coordinate external evaluations or research partnerships where needed
Enable informed decision-making & continuous improvement
- Translate insights into actionable recommendations for program development
- Facilitate reflection processes with internal teams and partners
- Promote a culture of learning and adaptive management
Strengthen impact reporting & communication
- Contribute to the development of Foundation-wide impact reports
- Enable consistent and credible impact communication across programs
- Provide guidance and templates to Program Managers
Build capacity & engage stakeholders
- Support Program Managers and partners in applying impact management methods
- Act as a sparring partner on impact-related topics
- Stay up to date with developments in evaluation, data, and AI in impact measurement
Required Background & Competencies for Success in this Role
- 5+ years of relevant experience in impact measurement, evaluation, strategy, or a related field
- Strong understanding of impact frameworks, logic models, and data-driven decision-making
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including program teams and external partners
- Exposure to the philanthropic & NGO world a plus
- Ability to translate complex concepts into practical tools and processes
- Analytical mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Interest in developments in impact management (incl. evaluation methods, data, and AI
- Fluency in English; German is a plus
