Intern - Quantitative Developer (all genders)

The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been chairman of its supervisory board until 2024.

In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering, marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

We are the Investment Office of the Hasso Plattner Foundation. We have the mandate to generate income, and preserve and grow the wealth of the Hasso Plattner Foundation – with the ultimate goal of funding existing and new philanthropic initiatives into perpetuity.

We aim to generate high, risk-adjusted returns and invest capital in global public equities, leveraged buyouts, venture and growth capital, hedge funds and real assets. We invest with trusted external partners and selectively via direct ownership of businesses, especially in enterprise software and digital health.

Our investment strategy focuses on long-term equity ownership and risk diversification. The investment office seeks out external partners with entrepreneurial spirit, an ingrained moral compass, and a drive to make a positive impact. We invest to create value for both shareholders and society. Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations guide our investment decisions deeply.

The Hasso Plattner Foundation’s main office is in Potsdam, Germany.

Further, you will contribute general data-related research to the Investment Office, assist with model design and implementation, and work on general data-related tasks such as loading, cleansing, and visualization.

As part of a young and motivated team with flat hierarchies, you will be mentored and offered a flexible working environment mindful of your university schedule with the option to partially work remotely. We will support you in pursuing the CFA Institute Investment Foundations program.
