The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board since 2003.

 

In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.
 

The role is based in Hasso Plattner Foundation's main office in Potsdam, Germany.

The Position
we are seeking a Manager Asset Controlling to manage selected charitable, special, and private assets for our clients. You will play a critical role in overseeing financial management, reporting, compliance, and strategic planning related to your dedicated assets and collaborate with senior leadership, legal teams, and external financial partners to ensure their effective management.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial management and reporting of dedicated private and charitable assets
  • Set project reporting standards focusing on financial KPIs
  • Control income & expense schedules and ensure the corresponding cash planning
  • Prepare timely performance reports, and presentations for senior management and relevant stakeholders
  • Analyze and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with dedicated private and charitable assets
  • Implement internal controls and processes to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting

 

Your experience & qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration or Economics, with focus on Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in financial management, asset management or a related role
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and software tools (e.g., Excel, financial management software)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
