The Hasso Plattner Foundation aims to accelerate the adoption of digital technologies through science and education, improve access to art and culture, and support environmental conservation. Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board until 2024.

In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager Assurance (all genders) to join our team and play a critical role serving as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external service providers, including auditors. In doing so, ensuring highest quality with respect to financial accounting, related processes, legal entity management as well as the professional execution of financial audits. This role safeguards the integrity of financial accounting and related compliance and ensures timely and accurate documentation and communication.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the expert function “Accounting Principles and Guidelines” with respect to accounting policies and practices according to German GAAP ideally also US GAAP, IFRS
  • Coordination and review of monthly, quarterly and Year-end financial statements together with external service providers
  • Support legal entity management as well as regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate and oversee all phases of external audits, including stakeholder communication and documentation.
  • Ensure the completeness, quality and accuracy of audit-relevant documentation, including financial statements, donation agreements, and SAP records
  • Review and validate audit reports and ensure alignment with internal policies and legal standards

 

What We are Looking for

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • German Certified Public Accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in audit coordination, financial compliance, or controlling.
  • Familiarity with SAP systems
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Fluency in German and English.
  • Willing to take a hands-on approach when needed, while maintaining a strategic and proactive mindset
