Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board until 2024.
In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

Your Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager Assurance (all genders) to join our team and play a critical role serving as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external service providers, including auditors and accountants. In doing so, this role ensures highest quality and consistency of financial accounting, related processes and audit execution across multiple entities (non-profit and for-profit). This role safeguards the integrity of financial accounting and related compliance and ensures timely and accurate documentation and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the expert function “Accounting Principles and Guidelines” with respect to accounting policies and practices according to German GAAP ideally also US GAAP, IFRS
- Coordinate and review of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements together with external service providers
- Oversee external accounting service providers and ensure quality, timeliness and compliance with internal policies
- Support and ensure consistency in legal entity management and regulatory reporting
- Coordinate and oversee all phases of external audits, including stakeholder communication, timelines and documentation
- Ensure the completeness, quality and accuracy of audit-relevant documentation, including financial statements, contracts, and SAP records
- Review and validate audit reports and ensure alignment with internal policies
- Develop and maintain internal accounting policies and audit guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements und company standards
- Support the development and improvement of internal control systems and governance frameworks
What We are Looking for
- Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field
- Professional qualification (e.g. Wirtschaftsprüfer, CPA, ACCA) or very strong equivalent background preferred
- Very good understanding of German GAAP (ideally also US GAAP and IFRS) and audit processes
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in audit, audit coordination or financial compliance ideally within a Big4 or similar environment
- Familiarity with SAP systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to interact independently and confidently with external and internal stakeholders
- Ability and motivation to further develop practical accounting and audit guidelines and improve existing processes
- Fluency in German and English
- Hands-on mentality combined with a structured, detail-oriented and proactive working style
