Hasso Plattner is one of the founders of SAP, an enterprise software company, and has been Chairman of its Supervisory Board until 2024.
In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

The Position:
Join us as an Automation Engineer within one of the largest private charitable foundations in Germany. This role is central to our operational strategy, focused on enhancing efficiency and scalability across our entire organization.
You will have a direct and significant impact on our team's productivity by architecting the future of our internal processes.
Your primary mission will be to design, develop, and maintain robust automated workflows using leading coding and low-code frameworks, integrating a wide array of systems, APIs, and data sources.
You will leverage your scripting expertise in Python and JavaScript to build custom nodes and handle complex logic, while utilizing your knowledge of Microsoft Azure to manage data pipelines and deploy serverless solutions.
As part of a young and motivated team with flat hierarchies, you will have the autonomy to identify automation opportunities and drive the technological evolution of our organization.
What we are looking for:
- At least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of work experience in designing, building, and maintaining complex automated workflows. Experience with iPaaS platforms like n8n, Zapier or Make is a plus.
- An interest in and practical experience with applying AI/LLMs to automation challenges (e.g., using the OpenAI API, frameworks like LangChain, or building simple agentic workflows).
- Strong scripting and programming skills, particularly in Python and JavaScript, for creating custom integrations and data manipulation tasks.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, especially with services like Azure Functions, App Services, and various data storage solutions.
- A solid understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL), webhooks, and data formats (e.g., JSON).
- Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- A proactive, self-reliant working style with unquestioned integrity and a "get-things-done" mentality.
- Fluency in English is required; other languages (incl. German) are a plus.
