In 1998, Hasso Plattner founded the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Engineering (HPI), marking his first significant philanthropic contribution. After signing the Giving Pledge (initiated by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet), he established the foundation in 2015.

The Position
We are looking for an Asset Manager to take ownership of the financial management, reporting, compliance, and strategic planning for selected private assets and expenses on behalf of our clients. As a manager, you will play a key role in driving financial decision-making, implementing best practices, and ensuring the effective oversight of all assigned assets. You will need to take initiative in managing financial operations, identifying risks and opportunities, and optimizing asset performance. Collaborate closely with your lead to provide senior leadership with actionable items that enhance project efficiency and impact.
Your responsibilities
- Manage the financial structure of assigned assets, optimizing efficiency and aligning with overall business objectives.
- Monitor and manage financial operations, including income and expense schedules, cash flow planning, and budget forecasting.
- Analyze and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with assigned assets, providing strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and optimize performance.
- Develop and implement a structured master data management framework for all assigned assets.
- Design a comprehensive reporting framework to track asset performance, prepare timely reports, and deliver actionable insights through presentations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Implement and oversee internal controls and financial processes to safeguard assets, ensure compliance, and enhance accuracy in financial reporting.
- Conduct in-depth financial data analysis, identifying trends, variances, and strategic opportunities, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, legal teams, and financial institutions, to enhance asset value and compliance.
- Collect and review asset documentation requests and ensure accurate recording in the document management system
- Manage ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed
Your experience & qualifications
- Bachelor's and Master’s degree, with focus on Business Administration or Economics Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Proven experience (4+ years) in financial management, asset management or a related role
- Proficiency in financial modeling and software tools (e.g., Excel, financial management software)
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and analysis
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and overcome challenges effectively
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
