The Digital Engineering Faculty of the University of Potsdam and HPI offers a computer science engineering degree program that is unique in Germany.
In the course of its strong growth, the Hasso Plattner Institute is looking for the earliest possible start date for a
Manager Clusters Data & AI and Foundations (m/f/x)
The position is full-time with a two-year contract (with a good prospect for a permanent position).
Key job responsibilities
- In alignment with the respective cluster coordinator, you develop strategies, design concepts and recommendations for the development of the clusters’ activities in research, teaching and transfer
- You are the central point of contact at the cluster and the interface between the cluster’s researchers and other teams at HPI, e.g., strategic projects, program and publications management, academic partnerships, and HPI Engine among others. You work closely together with the other cluster manager in activities of all clusters
- Together with the cluster coordinator and the cluster members, you align the course offering in cooperation with program management and student affairs, and you coordinate the further development of the clusters’ contribution to our degree programs
- You are responsible for reporting, compiling statistics and evaluations
- You plan, manage, and monitor activities of the clusters’ research schools. This includes the supervision of current scholarship recipients and guidance of new applicants through the application process
- You are responsible for the successful planning, organization, and implementation of all cluster meetings and events, e.g., the annual retreat
- You manage communication with all relevant internal and external partners and stakeholders
- You are also responsible for internal and external communications in collaboration with our Marketing and Communications team
Your profile
- Successfully completed university degree with proven affinity for the respective clusters’ topics
- Relevant professional experience in higher education/science
- Ideally, in-depth knowledge of the requirements of researchers, the processes within research groups as well as an understanding of our degree programs
- Experience in research, program and project management
- Enthusiasm for working with a diverse group of researchers and students from Germany and abroad
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English
- Ability to work independently, conceptually, analytically, and in a results-oriented manner
- Enjoyment of organizational tasks and high service orientation
- Ability to work in a team, very good communication skills in a management environment, and confident manner
- Hands-on mentality and motivation to make a difference
