Postdoctoral Researchers (m/f/x) - Data & AI
The positions are temporary and full-time.
These full-time positions are available immediately for 36 months at HPI in Potsdam. Sponsorship for a work visa can be provided. The salary is 72k€ per year.
The Data & AI Cluster at the Hasso Plattner Institute is currently seeking to fill two postdoctoral research positions and is inviting applications from excellent candidates. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated and talented individual to conduct cutting-edge research. The successful candidates are expected to set their own research agenda in the context of the following areas:
- Scalable, Data-Efficient/Energy-Efficient Learning and/or Optimization Algorithms
- Physics-Based AI and Machine Learning Algorithms
- Interpretable and Explainable AI
- Machine Learning Theory
- AI for Science
- AI for Social Good
- Complex Data Analysis and Intelligence
- Database Systems and Architectures
- Data Quality and Preparation
- Data Integration and Management
- Stream Processing and Spatial Analytics
Your Qualifications
- Hold, or be near completion of, a doctoral degree in computer science or a related field
- Excellent command of spoken and written English. The working language is English; German language skills are desirable, but not necessary.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and analytical skills
- Research experience in a relevant area and publications appropriate to the candidate’s career stage
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Experience with the translation of research output to artefacts that impact society is preferred
- An ideal candidate’s research agenda intersects with or complements multiple research groups at HPI.
